Investigative  Interviewing  Techniques

This Investigative Interviewing training course is designed based upon the PEACE model - Planning and Preparation, Engage and Explain, Account, Closure and Evaluation. This is used by the police and other fraud investigation agencies, to discuss and identify breaches in compliance using interviewing tactics.

Course Aims

During this highly interactive course, delegates will work through the theory and practice interviewing using case studies designed to reflect typical real life situations.

Training Course Content
This training course is designed to cover the following headings

Part 1

  • Introduction
  • Introductory exercise followed by a de-brief
  • Core interviewing skills and the principles of Investigative Interviewing
  • Introducing the Cognitive Approach - using five senses to assist memory recall
  • Introducing the Free Recall approach and links made with the use of 'context'
  • The Mnemonic ADVOKATE (According to Existing Participant Knowledge)
  • Exercise on taking statements using the Free Recall model followed by a de-brief
  • Introduction to the Transactional Analysis Communication model

  • Introduction of a case study
  • Exercise on planning and preparation
  • Introduction to Conversational Management model
  • Dealing with conflict
  • Using the correct Account methodology
  • Suspect Interview No. 1 and de-brief
  • Suspect Interview No. 2 and de-brief
